About Me
Eddy Cermeno has written and edited stories, created multimedia packages, produced videos and taken photos for The Union and Warrior Life magazine, both of which are award-winning student publications.
He enjoys listening to music, collecting vinyl records and playing basketball with his friends.
He started as a staff writer for The Union in August 2022 writing stories about the El Camino College community and won the Jolene Combs Memorial Award for Journalism Excellence in June 2023.
Then he became the News Editor for The Union in August 2023 until June 2024, where he managed the news desk and assigned stories to reporters. He created newspaper page designs for print and published over 300 stories online through WordPress.
In August 2024 he became a staff writer for Warrior Life, writing feature stories on people from El Camino and a photographer for The Union and Warrior Life.
As a photographer he has won awards from student media organizations such as College Media Association, Associated College Press, and California College Media Association.
